In the Coming Times, Brahma Kumaris Will Be the Leading Center for World Peace Efforts: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Modi Says: I Feel a Sense of Belonging with This Institution; In Brahma Kumaris, Words Are Few, Service Is Abundant

Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dedicated the newly constructed Shanti Shikhar Academy for a Peaceful World Retreat Center at Nava Raipur to society. During the event, PM Modi spent time in meditation at the Meditation Room. Addressing a packed auditorium at Shanti Shikhar, the Prime Minister shared insights on spirituality, global peace, environmental conservation, Indian culture, and his personal experiences with the Brahma Kumaris institution. Present on the dais were Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Additional Chief Administrator Rajyogini Jayanti Didi, and Additional General Secretary Rajyogi Dr. Mrityunjay Bhai.

Beginning his address with “Om Shanti,” PM Modi remarked, “You have connected not just yourselves but the world and the universe to peace efforts. Your very first greeting is Om ShantiOm symbolizing Brahman and the entire cosmos, and Shanti embodying the aspiration for peace. This is why the thoughts of Brahma Kumaris touch every heart so deeply. Our spirituality doesn’t merely teach peace; it guides us on the path of peace at every step. The concept of world peace is an integral part of India’s foundational philosophy.”

He added, “I have always observed that in Brahma Kumaris, words are few and service is abundant. I see the vision of Dadi Janki materializing in the concept of Shanti Shikhar. Guided by the mantra that state development drives national progress, we are committed to making India a developed nation. Institutions like Brahma Kumaris play a pivotal role in this vital journey toward a Viksit Bharat. I have witnessed this spiritual movement grow like a banyan tree.”

Words Are Few, Service Is Abundant Quoting ancient wisdom—Acharya paramodharmah, acharya paramotapah, acharya paramajnanam, acharya kim sadhyate (Conduct is the highest religion, the highest penance, and the highest knowledge; what cannot be achieved through conduct?)—PM Modi emphasized, “True transformation occurs when words align with actions. This is the source of Brahma Kumaris’ spiritual strength, where every sister first refines herself through rigorous penance and sadhana.” He highlighted the critical role of such institutions in empowering society.

Sharing Personal Experiences with Brahma Kumaris Recalling decades of association, PM Modi said, “I consider myself fortunate to have been connected with you all for many decades. I am not a guest here; I am one of you. This institution feels like family. The affection of Janki Didi and the guidance of Rajyogini Dadi Hriday Mohini remain cherished memories. From the Future of Power program in Ahmedabad in 2011, the 75th anniversary celebrations in 2012, the Prayagraj event in 2013, visits to Mount Abu, or programs in Gujarat—these became routine. Even after coming to Delhi, whether it was the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, or Jal Jeevan Mission, I have always engaged deeply with your initiatives.”

Brahma Kumaris Members Met in Every Country The Prime Minister shared, “After becoming PM, wherever I traveled globally—not a single country, airport, or venue lacked the presence of Brahma Kumaris members extending their blessings. It gives me a sense of belonging and reveals the institution’s strength. The dreams you pursue are not mere dreams—they are resolute sankalpas. May your sankalpas be fulfilled.”

This Energy Will Connect People to Peace Efforts Noting Chhattisgarh’s 25th foundation day—along with Jharkhand and Uttarakhand—PM Modi extended greetings to all celebrating states. “Today is special. I am confident that institutions like Shanti Shikhar will infuse new energy into India’s peace endeavors, connecting millions worldwide to the vision of global harmony.”

Spirituality Shows the Path to Peace Elaborating on spirituality, he said, “Self-restraint leads to self-knowledge, self-knowledge to self-realization, and self-realization to inner peace. Walking this path, seekers at Shanti Shikhar will become instruments of global peace. Practical policies are as vital as noble thoughts in the mission of global peace. India is fulfilling this role with utmost sincerity—emerging as a trusted first responder in crises worldwide. Our rituals invoke universal welfare and harmony among all beings. Seeing the Divine in every creature and extending the self to the cosmos is the natural expression of India’s spiritual consciousness.”

We Must Learn to Live in Harmony with Nature Calling for environmental stewardship, PM Modi stated, “Amid global ecological challenges, India leads the voice for nature conservation. We must protect and enhance what nature has given us—by learning to live in harmony with it. Our scriptures and Prajapita teach us to revere rivers as mothers, see divinity in water, and recognize the Supreme in plants. This mindset of giving back, not just taking, assures a safe future. Initiatives like One Sun, One World, One Grid align the world with India’s vision of One Earth, One Family, One Future.”

Additional Chief Administrator Rajyogini Jayanti Didi welcomed the Prime Minister on behalf of the Brahma Kumaris family: “We pray the Supreme grants you excellent health to fulfill your resolve of making India a world guru, infusing the nation with positive energy under your leadership.”
