In a heartwarming display of compassion intertwined with devotion, Anant Ambani, son of industrialist Mukesh Ambani, paused his sacred padyatra from Jamnagar to Dwarka to save a flock of broiler chickens from a grim fate. This inspiring moment unfolded during his 140-kilometer spiritual pilgrimage, undertaken ahead of his 30th birthday on April 10, as he seeks the blessings of Lord Dwarkadhish.
While walking the path of faith, Anant encountered a poultry van transporting chickens destined for slaughter. Moved by their plight, he halted his journey, gently cradling one of the birds in his hands. In a video that has since touched hearts across social media, he can be heard speaking in Gujarati, saying, “Ha badu bachavile. Ha badu leyle. Malik ni paisa dede” (“Save this poultry. Purchase it. Give money to its owner”). With unwavering resolve, he instructed his team to buy the entire lot—reportedly dozens of chickens—ensuring their safety and freedom.
This act of kindness is more than a fleeting gesture; it reflects Anant’s deep-rooted empathy for all living beings, a value that resonates with his spiritual journey. The rescued chickens are now destined for care, likely at Vantara, his wildlife rehabilitation initiative in Jamnagar, which has earned acclaim for its dedication to animal welfare. Just weeks ago, Vantara received the prestigious ‘Prani Mitra’ National Award from the Government of India, a testament to its impactful work.
Anant’s padyatra, a pilgrimage of both body and soul, began on March 28 from Moti Khavdi in Jamnagar. Covering 10-12 kilometers each night under tight security, he has already traversed over 60 kilometers, visiting temples along the way to offer prayers and seek divine guidance. Speaking to the press, he shared, “The padyatra is from our house in Jamnagar to Dwarka… May Lord Dwarkadhish bless us. I would like to tell the youth to have faith in Lord Dwarkadhish and remember Him before doing any work. That work will definitely be completed without any obstacle.”
For Anant, this journey is a profound expression of faith and service, culminating in a birthday celebration at the Dwarkadhish Temple. His actions remind us that spirituality is not just about personal devotion but also about extending compassion to all of creation. As he walks toward Dwarka, Anant Ambani embodies a timeless truth: true strength lies in kindness, and faith flourishes when paired with action.
