Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu | May 26, 2026
In the sacred journey of life, every soul — especially that of an innocent child — carries the divine spark of the Supreme. Yet, in Sulur near Coimbatore, that spark was cruelly extinguished when a 10-year-old girl was brutally abducted, raped, and murdered. The incident has shaken the conscience of Tamil Nadu and the entire nation.
While the police acted swiftly in arresting two suspects within 24 hours and the Chief Minister has assured a fast-track investigation under POCSO and relevant sections of BNS, what followed has left many spiritual hearts deeply disturbed.
A video from the official press briefing has gone viral, showing Inspector General of Police (West Zone) R.V. Ramya Bharathi laughing and engaging casually with her team moments before addressing the media on this horrific crime. In a separate interaction, Industries Minister S. Keerthana was also seen smiling while speaking about the case.
As one social media user poignantly asked: “Lets laugh first, press conference baad mein kar lenge?”
This casual laughter amid profound tragedy has triggered widespread outrage. Many are questioning — not the efficiency of the probe — but the complete absence of karuna (compassion) and human sensitivity at the highest levels of authority.
A Spiritual Reflection
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna teaches that true strength lies in mastery over the mind and senses, rooted in dharma and empathy. When those responsible for protecting prakriti (society’s vulnerable) display such detachment and light-heartedness over a child’s gruesome violation, it signals a deeper crisis — not just of governance, but of the soul.
This is not merely an “optics failure.” It reflects a growing numbness in modern society where professionalism has replaced humanity, and duty has become mechanical, devoid of prema (divine love) and respect for life.
The ancient rishis taught us: Ahimsa paramo dharma — non-violence is the highest duty. But when protectors themselves appear untouched by the pain of the innocent, how can society heal?
Call for Inner Awakening
Go Spiritual appeals to all readers, spiritual seekers, and leaders:
- Let this tragedy awaken us to cultivate true compassion in our daily lives.
- Authorities must remember that power without empathy is dangerous; it erodes trust between the ruler and the ruled.
- True leadership, whether in police, politics, or society, must be rooted in spiritual values — sensitivity, accountability, and respect for every atma.
May the departed child’s soul find peace in the divine light. May her family receive strength and justice. And may those in positions of power reflect deeply on this incident and reconnect with their own humanity.
The press conference can wait. The awakening of the soul cannot.
Om Shanti.
