Sonu Tyagi, Founder of Go Spiritual, on Lucknow Triple Deaths: “Ignored Mental Health and Family Frustration Are Turning Homes into Crime Scenes”

Mumbai / Lucknow – August 20, 2026: Sonu Tyagi, an award-winning writer, director and producer and Founder of Go Spiritual and Approach Entertainment Group, has expressed deep concern over the shocking triple tragedy in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar, where SBI employee Manas Bajpai allegedly shot dead his estranged wife Divya Mishra (an ICICI Bank relationship manager) outside her workplace, then killed his sister at home, and finally took his own life. The couple had been living separately with a divorce case pending in family court for nearly a year. A WhatsApp status allegedly posted by the accused pointed to suspicions of cheating as the trigger.

This horrifying incident is not an isolated event. Across the country, a disturbing rise is being witnessed in murders committed by husbands, wives, and family members over domestic disputes, divorce proceedings, suspicion, and pent-up frustration. Sonu Tyagi believes these crimes are symptoms of a deeper crisis of untreated mental health issues, emotional isolation, and the inability to handle conflict in healthy ways.

“These are not just crimes of passion or momentary rage. They are the tragic outcome of ignored mental health struggles, unresolved emotional trauma, and a society that still treats psychological distress as a private weakness rather than a public health priority,” said Sonu Tyagi. “When frustration, suspicion, and despair are left unaddressed, they can explode into irreversible violence. It is high time we stop looking away and start taking mental health seriously—at the individual, family, community, and government levels.”

Tyagi emphasised that Go Spiritual has long advocated mental and emotional well-being as an essential pillar of spiritual and social health. The organisation works to create awareness around stress, anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, and the importance of seeking timely professional help. Through its platforms—including Go Spiritual News Magazine & App and planned Web TV and OTT content—Go Spiritual promotes conversations on emotional resilience, compassionate communication, and the need to destigmatise mental health support.

“We must create an environment where people feel safe to talk about their emotional pain without shame,” Tyagi added. “Spirituality teaches us inner balance, but spirituality without practical support for mental health is incomplete. Families must learn to handle disputes with dialogue rather than destruction. Society must stop romanticising silence and start encouraging counselling, mediation, and professional intervention before relationships turn deadly.”

Go Spiritual also acknowledges and welcomes various government initiatives aimed at improving mental health infrastructure, including the National Mental Health Programme, efforts to expand counselling services, and campaigns that seek to reduce stigma. However, Tyagi stressed that much more needs to be done in terms of accessibility, awareness at the grassroots level, and integration of mental health support into family courts, workplaces, and community systems—especially in cases involving prolonged marital discord and domestic tension.

The organisation continues to run complementary social initiatives such as the Bhookh Mitao hunger-relief campaign and programmes supporting the underprivileged, while consistently highlighting that a healthy mind is the foundation of a compassionate and peaceful society.

“Every life lost to family violence is a collective failure,” Sonu Tyagi said. “The rising graph of brutal killings within homes is a loud warning. We urge individuals to prioritise their mental well-being, families to seek help early, and the government to accelerate and strengthen mental health services. Only through awareness, timely intervention, and a culture of emotional responsibility can we hope to reduce these heartbreaking tragedies.”
