This impermanence does not diminish love’s significance but reveals its overrated status in our culture. We are conditioned to pursue an idealized, everlasting love, yet spirituality teaches that attachment to such fleeting emotions leads to suffering. The Bhagavad Gita urges us to transcend transient desires, focusing on the eternal soul. Love, shaped by circumstances and human flaws, cannot be expected to remain constant.
Does this mean love is without value? Not at all. When approached with spiritual awareness, love becomes a path to growth, teaching compassion and connection. However, it requires detachment from the illusion of permanence. The tragedy of Raja and Sonam reminds us that love, unchecked by spiritual grounding, can lead to destruction. Had they embraced mutual respect and self-awareness, their story might have been different.
