Brahmakumaris National Media Conference Kicks Off in Abu Road: Journalists Pledge for Peace, Unity, and Trust

Abu Road, September 26, 2025 – The Brahmakumaris’ National Media Conference commenced with a vibrant welcome session at the organization’s international headquarters in Shantivan, drawing nearly 2,000 journalists from across India. The five-day event, running from September 26 to 30, focuses on the theme of establishing peace, unity, and trust in the world through media’s positive influence. Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde is set to formally inaugurate the conference tomorrow.

The opening session featured soul-stirring performances, including a welcome song by the Madhurvani Group and a screening of the film Voice of Truth. Speakers emphasized media’s pivotal role in promoting positivity amid global unrest, urging journalists to highlight stories of harmony and integrity.

In a heartfelt message from London, BK Jayanti Didi, Additional Chief Administrator of Brahmakumaris, highlighted media’s global impact. “Media holds the utmost importance in the world today, as information circulates everywhere,” she said. “While news of unrest is prioritized, stories of restored peace often go unnoticed. Promoting positive news inspires people.” She invited attendees to the upcoming International Integrity Retreat in Mount Abu in February, where participants from over 110 countries collaborate on world service, exemplifying trust across cultures. “Wherever you see good work, promote it,” she urged, adding that a golden world is on the horizon.

BK Nikunj, National Coordinator of the Media Wing from Mumbai, delivered the welcome address, noting the unique coincidence of the conference aligning with Navratri. “When peace, trust, and unity reside within us, they will manifest in society,” he stated. He led the audience in a pledge to foster trust through the power of peace, emphasizing how a single message or video can transform situations—from chaos to harmony.

BK Atma Prakash, Vice President of the Media Wing, shared insights on self-realization. “The first trust is knowing who I am—not the body, but the soul,” he said. Recalling his experiences since 1957 with Prajapita Brahma, he predicted a shift from Kaliyug to Satyug, encouraging journalists to spread spiritual knowledge.

Veteran journalist Madhukar Dwivedi, as a special guest, praised the institution’s selfless work across 140 countries. “Journalism should aim for public welfare,” he advised. “Your pen is like a matchstick—it can illuminate or destroy. Remain detached and write for the greater good.” He described the Brahmakumaris sisters as embodiments of Saraswati and brothers as divine forms, noting the diverse gathering as a reflection of India’s unity.

BK Dr. Gangadhar, Editor of Om Shanti Media, stressed using skills for societal upliftment. “True news connects people to God, binds humanity in unity, and fills life with light and hope,” he said. “Recognize your inner powers, and challenges become easy.”

From Gujarat, BK Ranjan Behen, Zonal Coordinator of the Media Wing, led a Rajyoga meditation session. “Change your thoughts through meditation, and your writing will transform,” she said. “Meditation helps us realize our true self as a point of light, bringing positivity to our work.”

Dr. Banarsilal Shah, Secretary of the Medical Wing and Project Director of the Drug-Free India Campaign, highlighted Brahmakumaris’ collaboration with the Indian government to combat addiction. “We’ve achieved 90% success in de-addiction through meditation,” he noted, administering a pledge for journalists to stay addiction-free and promote the cause. He warned of rising health issues like heart attacks in youth and India’s growing diabetes crisis, advocating meditation for holistic healing.

Chief guest Dr. Isha Agarwal, global beauty pageant winner and actress, called media the fourth pillar of democracy. “It’s not just about information—it’s society’s mirror,” she said. Echoing Mahatma Gandhi, she urged embracing truth and non-violence to awaken citizens.

The session included a divine song by Sister Sharda Nath from Raipur and a welcome dance by artists from Natya Evam Kala Kendra, Bidar. IGNOU Regional Director Dr. Kamlesh Meena’s book Inclusive Thoughts was launched, and guests were honored with mementos. BK Chanda Didi, Head Coordinator of the Media Wing, skillfully moderated the event.

In a parallel highlight, the Media Expo was inaugurated by BK Karuna Bhai, President of the Media Wing, along with other dignitaries including BK Atma Prakash, BK Sarla Behen, BK Shantanu, BK Nikunj, Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, and Dr. Man Singh Parmar. The expo features attractions like Magic Meditation and Mind Spa stalls, glimpses of Brahmakumaris’ global initiatives, sustainable yogic farming displays, publications, and news channels. A tableau of Golden India has become a crowd favorite.

As journalists commit to amplifying positive narratives, this conference underscores Brahmakumaris’ mission to foster spiritual awakening and societal harmony through media. Stay tuned to Go Spiritual News for updates on this transformative gathering.
