Abu Road, September 27, 2025 – Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde formally inaugurated the Brahmakumaris’ National Media Conference 2025 at the organization’s international headquarters in Shantivan, emphasizing the need to safeguard peace while praising the institution’s unparalleled contributions to society, religion, and the nation. The four-day event, organized by the Media Wing of Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya, has attracted over 1,500 journalists, editors, and correspondents from print, electronic, radio, and web media across India. Participants will deliberate on the theme of “Peace, Unity, and Trust” from September 27 to 30.

In his keynote address, Governor Bagde expressed immense joy at attending the conference. “Media plays a crucial role in promoting peace, unity, and trust in society,” he stated. “It is the fourth pillar of democracy, nurturing its roots to keep it evergreen. Democracy runs in the blood of Indians—dating back to ancient times, as mentioned in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s book Discovery of India, where assemblies like the one in Pataliputra elected 30 members.” He urged media to focus on elections based on ideology and national interest rather than caste, strengthening democracy.
Lauding Brahmakumaris as a spiritual university preserving ancient Indian culture, the Governor highlighted its global scale. “There is no other women’s organization in the world as large as Brahmakumaris,” he said. “Founded by Brahma Baba, who left his diamond business for this cause, the institution works tirelessly on de-addiction, environmental awareness, and eradicating superstitions. They reach villages, guiding people toward peace and progress. Brahmakumaris has exemplified sacrifice, austerity, and dedication for the nation, religion, and society.”
Governor Bagde reflected on India’s resilient culture: “Our civilization is the world’s oldest. Despite attempts over millennia to dismantle it—including Macaulay’s 1835 education policy, Jizya tax, and forced conversions—it thrives because of our yogis and saints. We embrace all religions without invading others. Sanatan Dharma comments on none, yet others critique us.” He added a firm note on peace: “We will not disturb anyone’s peace, but if someone tries to disrupt ours, we must not let them go.”

BK Mohini Didi, Chief Administrator of Brahmakumaris, shared her experiences: “Brahma Baba wanted journalist Brahmakumaris to spread his message. We’ve reached 60-70 countries not for promotion, but to bring peace to minds amid rising violence and selfishness. Peace is our innate religion; it starts within and extends to family, society, and the world. Practice connecting with the Ocean of Peace—our Father—and it becomes your nature.” She recounted meeting stressed journalists abroad, noting how Brahmakumaris’ smiling ethos restores joy.
Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, Head of Department at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal, described journalists as carriers of social and cultural consciousness. “You write daily history and are the eyes through which India sees itself,” he said. “In this digital era, everyone has a platform, but it comes with responsibility. Amid negativity, fake news, and trolling, create constructive content. Use social media as a loudspeaker, creator, and reformer.”
Dr. Man Singh Parmar, former Vice-Chancellor of Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Communication University in Raipur, stressed global need for peace: “Our Vedas and scriptures teach peace leads to unity and trust. India, as a messenger of peace, embeds these in its Constitution. Media lights the lamp of peace. Resolutions from past Brahmakumaris conferences form an ideal code of ethics for journalism—let’s submit it to the government. Spread Brahmakumaris’ efforts worldwide to make India a global guru.”
BK Karuna Bhai, President of the Media Wing, explained the biannual conferences’ purpose: “We organize these not for publicity, but for every soul to experience bliss. Having worked 26 years in media, I see news spreading like wind via mobiles. Once we requested spiritual stories; now they publish voluntarily.”
BK Sarla Didi, Vice President from Hyderabad, added: “God Himself is the source of this conference. Our theme promotes peace, unity, and trust—everyone’s common goal for a happy life.”
BK Shantanu Bhai, National Coordinator, welcomed the diverse media family: “Since 1980, our wing fosters credibility in media, leading to societal unity.”
Other speakers included Dr. Sohini Shastri, Kolkata-based astrologer and life coach honored with the President’s Medal, and Dr. Ajit Pathak, National President of the Public Relations Society of India from Delhi.
The inauguration featured a captivating welcome dance by Kathak and folk artist Shweta Sagar from Agra and a melodious song by singer Sharda Nath from Raipur. BK Chandrakala Didi, Zonal Coordinator from Jaipur, moderated the session.
